Granola Recipe

Granola Recipe

This recipe is very kid friendly my son who is 7 years old helped and he loved being able to help in the kitchen. And we think nothing is better than fresh homemade granola.

Preheat Oven to 350 degrees

Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 1/3 Cup Honey ( or other Sweetener)
  • 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar ( Yes I know this is a dry ingredient)
  • 1 Cap of Vanilla Extract ( We used ours from the Dominican Republic but you can use any good quality Vanilla)
  • 1 Cap of Almond Extract ( You don’t have to use this but we did
  • Mix these together in a sauce pan and let the butter melt and let them combined
Dry Ingredients
  • 3 to 4 cups Oat DO NOT USE QUICK OATS
  • 1/2 nut or seed of your choosing ( We used Almonds)
  • Sprinkle with some Cinnamon ( I also sprinkled ours with coco powder)

Combined your wet and dry ingredients until everything is wet saturated from the wet ingredients.

Line a baking sheet with edges with parchment paper and then spread your mixture onto the baking sheet. Bake for 25 minutes you will want to pull it out half way through to mix so everything is evenly cooked or until your granola has turned golden brown. It may still be wet but that is okay it will dry while cooling.

Once your granola is cooled you can add extra additives to it. We added mini chocolate chips and raisins but the possibilities are endless of what you’d like to add to it!

The great thing about granola is that it is completely customizable. You can use whatever additives you and your family likes! You can change up whatever nuts and seeds you use as well. Let me know in the comments if you try this recipe and what changes you made to it!
